Losing My Religion

“Losing My Religion” was a popular song some 30 years ago. But these days, many people don’t think very much about religion. Therefore, logically, there’s nothing to lose any more. And yet the human desire to worship will not be denied. If one traditional religion diminishes in significance, then another rises to take its place, and there is one religion in particular which has mushroomed in the 21st Century.  Some people may laugh at Tom Cruise’s involvement in Scientology, or Donald Trump with Evangelical Christianity.  But there is another religion that is taking over our society’s mindset, demanding unwavering loyalty, and involving billions of dollars.
